We were at The Sand Trap at Tucker Oaks Golf Club on Valentine’s evening for dinner and a good time was had by all. The festivities were filled with “you go it….red hearts in all sizes…some shiny and some just cute”! We continue to see slow movement in the Luxury Markets here in Redding. Due to equity lost and market value loss we have lost our local “Move Up” Buyer. Most sales are from “Out of Town” Buyer retiring, second homes or relocating. We also have local Buyers that are downsizing from larger more expensive homes.

We continue to see prices coming down and will continue to do so throughout 2009. Foreclosures and Short Sales will be at record numbers and drive the market down further. The Housing Stimulus Plan is too little and too late. It will not help the majority. The higher markets will continue to adjust while we see activity in the entry level/investor market.
